Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Manufacturing Operations, the IT Support Specialist will ensure reliable delivery of IT and Operational Technology (OT) services across the manufacturing facility, production floor, and corporate environments. This role is critical in supporting factory systems, production equipment connectivity, and end-user computing to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality end-user support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with IT Service Management tools (e.g., Freshservice or similar), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ERP shop floor systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, MFA), Active Directory and identity management.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows device support and hardware troubleshooting (Dell hardware) including mobile device management (Apple and Android)
  • Knowledge manufacturing barcode scanners, label printers, and industrial peripherals.
  • Strong understanding of remote support tools, LAN/WAN networking and industrial device connectivity.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a production-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline IT support to manufacturing teams, including production operators, supervisors, and engineering staff.
  • Support and troubleshoot Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP shop floor lines, and production technologies.
  • Assist in maintaining uptime and connectivity for production systems, including workstations, tablets, scanners, industrial PCs, and factory peripherals.
  • Support integration between production equipment and IT systems, including network-connected factory and industrial devices.
  • Respond quickly to production-impacting incidents, escalating critical issues as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Provide shift and after-hours support when required to restore production operations.
  • Deliver end-user support for Windows workstations, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, authentication, printing and network connectivity issues (LAN/WAN).
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain user hardware, software and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, MFA).
  • Support meeting room and collaboration technologies and manage inventory of consumables (e.g., toner, scanner supplies).
  • Assist with factory network infrastructure under the guidance of senior IT team members.
  • Log, track and resolve incidents using the IT Service Management system.
  • Maintain accurate asset records and support hardware procurement, deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including account provisioning, device setup and factory system access.
  • Train production users on factory systems and devices.
  • Follow established IT and manufacturing technology processes and standards.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with manufacturing, engineering and operations teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
