About The Position

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our IT team, supporting end-users and maintaining our IT systems. In addition, this position will work closely with the NP&A IT Manager to develop skills in managing network security operations for Nidec Press & Automation North America locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or Computer Science or a related field.
  • Work experience in IT support or security is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs).
  • Demonstrable passion for cybersecurity and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions with both internal and external customers as part of daily responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Nidec Minster work experience preferred.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tenable, CrowdStrike, SIEM tools, or NIST/CIS frameworks is preferred.
  • Entry-level security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with foundational security frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls) is preferred.
  • Travel to NP&A locations to provide support or assist with project implementations as required, with travel expected to be less than 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • IT Support & Infrastructure
  • End-User Support: Serve as a point of contact for technical support, resolving hardware, software, and network issues for our end-users via tickets, phone, and in-person communication including the use of our Helpdesk support solutions.
  • Identity Management: Manage user lifecycles (onboarding/offboarding) and permissions in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Asset & Patch Management: Deploy updates using endpoint management tools and maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets.
  • Documentation: Create and update end-user guides and internal knowledge base articles.
  • Network Security Operations & Monitoring
  • Research: Evaluate new security tools (commercial & open-source) and stay current on emerging threats, including AI-driven tools and risks.
  • Endpoint Protection: Monitor console health, investigate low-to-medium severity alerts, and escalate threats per incident response procedures.
  • Access Reviews: Assist with quarterly user access audits and monitor for suspicious login activity to ensure Least Privilege.
  • SIEM & Forensic Log Analysis: Review SIEM dashboards daily for anomalies, triage alerts using standard playbooks, and utilize AI-driven features to reduce noise.
  • Vulnerability Management: Execute network scans, triage vulnerabilities by severity, and track remediation efforts with infrastructure teams.
  • Policy, Governance & Awareness
  • Security Policy: Assist in reviewing and updating core policies (Acceptable Use, Incident Response) and maintaining central documentation.
  • AI Governance: Help develop guidelines for the safe, ethical use of AI tools to prevent data leakage.
  • Security Awareness: Administer the Cybersecurity User Awareness platform, managing phishing simulations and training campaigns to strengthen security culture.
  • All other job duties as assigned.
