About The Position

The IT Support Associate provides technical support and system administration for a construction organization supporting both office-based and field-based staff. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving basic to intermediate IT issues across hardware, software, mobile devices, and network systems while following established procedures and security standards. The position plays a key role in ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations in fast-paced office and jobsite environments. Works under moderate supervision.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of relevant experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop support roles
  • Demonstrated experience supporting both office users and remote or field-based personnel
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and/or macOS), mobile devices, and basic networking concepts
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting workstations, peripherals, and common business software
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, troubleshooting steps, and security protocols
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
  • Ability to document issues, resolutions, and technical changes accurately
  • Ability to work in office, warehouse, and active construction site environments
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands for keyboarding and equipment handling
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move IT equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and crouch as needed to install or service equipment
  • Ability to safely navigate job sites while adhering to safety policies and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in the construction, engineering, or field-services industry
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, IT asset management, and mobile device management (MDM)
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar

Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline IT support to office personnel and field staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and mobile device issues
  • Support construction job sites by assisting with laptops, tablets, printers, mobile hotspots, radios, and other field technology
  • Set up, configure, and deploy new and replacement equipment for employees in office and field locations
  • Install, configure, update, and maintain operating systems, business applications, and construction-related software platforms
  • Support basic IT infrastructure including servers, workstations, networking equipment, and cloud-based tools
  • Perform routine system monitoring, testing, and maintenance to support uptime, security, and reliability
  • Document service requests, resolutions, and system changes in accordance with internal IT procedures
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior IT staff or vendors as appropriate
  • Follow established cybersecurity, data protection, and acceptable-use policies
