About The Position

Rasmussen Group is seeking a hands-on IT Specialist to support the day-to-day technology needs of our growing organization. This role ensures our systems, devices, and communication tools operate efficiently and securely across office locations, job sites, and remote environments. The IT Specialist serves as a key support partner to employees in both office and field settings—troubleshooting issues, setting up equipment, and helping implement technology solutions that keep our operations running smoothly. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience), preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support or help desk environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, networking fundamentals, and remote desktop tools
  • Experience supporting both office and field users in fast-paced environments
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to travel to job sites and remote locations as needed
  • Willingness to work nights or weekends when necessary
  • Ability to pass post-offer drug testing, background check, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas in accordance with OSHA and/or MSHA standards
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with co-workers, supervisors, and the public

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with construction or trucking industry technology is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Comfortable lifting and setting up computer equipment as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and mobile device issues
  • Set up and configure computers, tablets, printers, and phones for office staff and job trailers
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365, VPN, email, and industry-specific software platforms
  • Support GPS/fleet tracking systems, dispatch platforms, and field service applications
  • Maintain and update user accounts, permissions, and security groups
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of routers, firewalls, switches, and other network equipment
  • Track and manage IT assets including laptops, mobile devices, licenses, and software
  • Maintain clear documentation of tickets, configurations, and processes
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for equipment orders and technical support
  • Assist in implementing cybersecurity measures and backup procedures
  • Support system upgrades, office expansions, and software rollouts
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Willingness to assist team members with additional duties as needed
