This position involves performing Information Technology (IT) technical work, primarily focused on desktop and/or help desk support. Key responsibilities include the installation and repair of desktop hardware and software, management of voice and data systems, and processing help desk work orders for various users. The IT Specialist provides technical support, troubleshooting common hardware and software issues, and acts as a liaison between users and Information Systems. The role also entails maintaining computerized inventory of IT equipment and services, documenting technical procedures, and potentially testing software. Employees may be redeployed to other County departments during declared emergencies.
