About The Position

The IT Service Operations Specialist for the NYU Institute of Fine Arts (IFA) is responsible for coordinating, optimizing, and advocating for technology services that support the academic, research, administrative, and public-facing activities of the Institute. Bridge local IFA needs with NYU IT’s central service offerings, ensuring that faculty, students, staff, and visitors receive responsive, high-quality support across computing, AV, digital collections, and specialized research technologies. Serve as the primary point of contact for technology service delivery at IFA, translating institutional priorities into actionable service requirements and improvements, while maintaining strong relationships with central IT teams and external vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Digital Media, Library and Information Science, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT service delivery, user support, or technology operations, including coordination of desktop support, classroom or AV technology, and customer-facing IT services.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a complex, service-oriented primarily Apple IT environment, preferably in higher education or a research institution.
  • Experience collaborating with centralized IT organizations, shared service models, or matrixed reporting structures.
  • Evident experience with endpoint management systems and Splunk-based security metric systems and onboarding and offboarding computer protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability with project management and execution and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, including faculty, students and staff.
  • Excellent informational and physical organizational skills and experience with inventory management.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Digital Humanities, Library and Information Science, Museum Studies, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years ITIL Foundation or equivalent IT Service Management training. Relevant certifications related to endpoint management, AV systems, or project coordination are a plus.
  • Experience supporting faculty, students, and staff in an academic or research-driven environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of WorkSpace One, Cortex XDR, Insight VMware and PAM implementation for endpoints using Password Safe.
  • Advanced understanding of live broadcast technology and live event audio-visual technologies.
  • Experience working with computers in a scientific environment with legacy peripherals.
  • Previous experience with creation or maintenance of inventory management systems within a large higher-ed IT environment.
  • Understanding of accessibility considerations for classroom and event technology.
