About The Position

Castle Biosciences Inc. is growing, and we are looking to hire an IT, Security & Network Operations Center Engineer II (Security Focus) working from our Phoenix, AZ office location. A typical day for a Security & Network Operations Center Engineer II (Security Focus) involves managing and supporting the security posture of Castle Biosciences' IT environment. The role begins with reviewing security dashboards, alerts, and threat activity, while serving as an escalation point for SNOC and Help Desk security-related issues. The Security Engineer II spends the majority of the day engineering, maintaining, and improving security controls across on-premises and cloud-based environments, with approximately 60% of the role focused on security projects, system improvements, and troubleshooting complex security and network-related issues. Responsibilities include designing and supporting secure infrastructure, collaborating with Systems Administration, Cloud, and Network teams to ensure secure connectivity, leading security-focused projects, developing and delivering cybersecurity training and awareness initiatives, documenting changes, evaluating new security technologies and vendors, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the organization's security posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in information security engineering, security operations, or cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and security standards such as HIPAA, PII, SOX, and general security frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center tools.
  • One or more of the following or equivalent: CompTIA Security+, GIAC (GSEC or similar), Cisco CCNA Security or equivalent
