About The Position

As an IT Project Manager III, you will play a crucial role in developing complex short- and long-range public transportation technology projects within budget constraints. You will be a key adviser on annual work project development and will guide areas such as system planning, research, decision support systems, and interagency coordination. You will skillfully manage projects to meet objectives and priorities, ensuring quality control throughout each project's life cycle. You will actively lead in establishing a project culture that views escalations to resolve "stagnant" problems as good business. You will manage scope creep, communications, and quality to contribute to the overall success of projects.

  • IT Project Manager II ($92,177 - $138,265) 4 or more years of professional experience in project management or a related field, including: Managing the implementation of technology projects. Organizing, presenting, facilitating, and negotiating with diverse stakeholders and user groups. Quality assurance and coordinating with staff and contractors engaged in program development, procurement, and implementation of equipment and systems. Managing complex projects from planning phase through implementation including contract administration and oversight. A bachelor's degree in project management, information technology, or a closely related field will substitute for 2 years of experience. An associate degree in the same field(s) will substitute for 1 year of experience.
  • IT Project Manager III ($99,368 - $149,052) Bachelor's degree in project management, information technology, or a closely related field. Six or more years of professional experience in IT project management or a related field, including: Managing the implementation of technology projects. Organizing, presenting, facilitating, and negotiating with diverse stakeholders and user groups. Responsibilities

  • Manage complex transportation technology projects.
  • Establish goals and implement strategies, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provide guidance on methods for executing program implementations.
  • Evaluate complex analyses conducted by consultants or other agencies.
  • Develop technical recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of new technologies with existing systems, both within and outside the agency.
  • Procure and manage all necessary consultant services following company procedure.
  • Coordinate, direct, and monitor the work of consultants.
  • Track and manage contractor activity to successful completion.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control, as appropriate.
  • Drive high-quality communication and documentation for complex or multi-workstream projects.
  • Develop clear, timely, and purpose-built updates for stakeholders, program leadership, and project teams, ensuring shared understanding of progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Anticipate communication needs, synthesize complex information into actionable insights, and tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including key materials produced by the project team, to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with expectations.
  • Identify and address communication challenges across teams or workstreams, implementing solutions that strengthen transparency, decision-making, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Complete projects in a professional manner, meeting budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure satisfactory transfer of control upon project completion.
  • Complete project closeout in a timely manner and prepare end of project documentation.
