About The Position

The IT/OT Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing support of IT and OT networking infrastructure supporting CES’s 24/7 Renewable Energy Remote Operations Center (ROC). This role ensures secure, reliable connectivity across enterprise IT and operational technology (OT) environments while supporting NERC CIP-aligned cybersecurity controls.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of IT/OT networking and systems administration experience
  • Strong IP networking, DNS, routing, NAT, and VPN skills
  • Palo Alto and Cisco networking experience
  • Windows Server and Linux administration experience
  • Familiarity with NERC CIP cybersecurity requirements
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operational environments

Nice To Haves

  • Renewable energy, utility, or industrial experience
  • ROC or NOC environment exposure
  • SCADA or OT networking experience
  • Cybersecurity compliance or audit support experience
  • Experience with SSO platforms such as Okta

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain secure IT/OT network environments
  • Manage IP addressing, DNS, routing, NAT, and network segmentation
  • Configure and support IPSec site-to-site and remote access VPNs
  • Administer Cisco switches and Palo Alto firewalls (GlobalProtect)
  • Support SCADA, EMS, and OT networks including Ignition, DNP3, and OPC-UA
  • Debug VPN performance issues including latency, packet loss, and MTU issues
  • Build monitoring dashboards and alerting systems (Grafana/Prometheus)
  • Administer Windows Server and Linux systems
  • Support vSphere virtual environments
  • Maintain network documentation and data center standards
  • Support ROC operations, telecom systems, and call recording
  • Collaborate with vendors and manage firewall and VPN access
  • Use GitHub for configuration management and version control
  • Monitor and collect near real-time utilization data for ROC backhaul Internet connections; analyze bandwidth usage and recommend ISP bandwidth increases as needed
  • Apply Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) principles to determine and authorize appropriate user access to site resources, including SCADA and OT control systems
  • Design, configure, and support Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using Okta or similar identity providers
