We wash cars for the fun of it. We put people first. We help turn jobs into careers. We’re currently seeking a IT Operations Technician to join our Headquarters team! The IT Operations Technician is responsible for the hands-on technical and logistical operations that support IT hardware lifecycle management. This role manages warehouse operations, device staging and configuration, quality assurance testing, and fulfillment/shipping of IT equipment to internal customers and field locations. The position combines technical proficiency in device imaging, basic networking configuration, and hardware troubleshooting with operational excellence in inventory control, shipment coordination, and vendor receiving.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
  • 2–3 years in IT preferred, shipping, logistics, or warehouse coordination
  • Hands on technical ability to configure PCs, networking equipment, and servers prior to shipment
  • Working knowledge of imaging tools, basic networking (DHCP, DNS, VLANs), BIOS settings, and OS preparation
  • Familiarity with ITIL, ITOM, and ITAM principles
  • Skilled in shipping platforms, inventory systems, and Excel for tracking and reporting
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic devices, configuration, or connectivity issues before deployment
  • Strong communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
  • Excellent organization, time management, and documentation skills
  • Ability to follow and maintain SOPs for configuration, staging, and shipping workflows

Responsibilities

  • Perform imaging, software installation, and configuration of PCs, tablets, and mobile devices using company-approved standards and deployment tools (Reflect, Tanium)
  • Stage and configure point-of-sale hardware, servers, and specialized equipment according to site-specific requirements
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) testing on all configured equipment prior to shipment to validate functionality, network connectivity, and security compliance
  • Update BIOS/firmware, apply security patches, and ensure endpoint compliance with company security policies
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and configuration issues, escalating complex problems to IT Support or Infrastructure teams as needed
  • Maintain accurate asset records and related platforms with real-time updates to asset status, location, configuration, and ownership
  • Apply asset tags, record serial numbers, MAC addresses, and device-specific identifiers during receiving and staging processes
  • Document configuration settings, firmware versions, and deployment specifications for audit and troubleshooting purposes
  • Participate in asset lifecycle workflows including procurement receiving, deployment tracking, RMA coordination, and retirement/disposal activities
  • Support compliance documentation requirements including data sanitization certificates, disposal records, and audit evidence
  • Flag data quality issues, missing information, or discrepancies to IT Asset Management Specialist and Sr. Manager
  • Maintain organized warehouse storage areas with clear labeling, location tracking, and organization standards
  • Receive and inspect inbound shipments from vendors, verify contents against purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical audits to ensure inventory accuracy across all asset classes
  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate allocation for break/fix and deployment activities
  • Coordinate vendor RMAs, track return shipments, and ensure warranty replacements are received and processed
  • Maintain chain-of-custody documentation for high-value and sensitive equipment
  • Schedule and prepare outgoing shipments to remote employees, field locations, and stores based on deployment timelines and project schedules
  • Package equipment securely with appropriate protection, verify shipping labels and documentation for accuracy, and coordinate pickups
  • Track shipment progress, proactively communicate delays, and resolve delivery issues with carriers
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure orders are fulfilled, configured correctly, and delivered on schedule
  • Assemble user-specific equipment kits and support onboarding/offboarding provisioning activities
  • Maintain records of shipped items including tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and recipient sign-offs
  • Collaborate with IT Support, Field Technicians, System Admins, and ITAM teams to align staging priorities, resolve equipment issues, and meet deployment deadlines
  • Communicate equipment status, availability, and potential delays to stakeholders and project owners
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in staging workflows, configuration automation, inventory accuracy, or shipping efficiency
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to documentation of standard operating procedures
  • Support ad-hoc projects including hardware refresh initiatives, emergency deployments, and equipment audits
