About The Position

The IT Operations Manager is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, security, and day-to-day operations of the IT systems implemented onsite supporting a USG contact with specific accountability for core wired and wireless infrastructure, CCTV and physical security technology, IT capacity planning and video record retention requirements. This role provides technical leadership and operational oversight to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure technology services that support site performance work statement objectives. The IT Manager oversees staff, vendors, and projects while ensuring infrastructure and surveillance systems are sized, maintained, and optimized to meet current and future demand.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive IT experience, including infrastructure management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing CCTV or site video surveillance systems.
  • Proven experience with IT capacity planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of networking, servers, storage, and system integrations.
  • Experience leading technical teams and managing vendors.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, similar discipline preferred; two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

Responsibilities

  • IT Infrastructure Management Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and end-user systems.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience across on-premises and connected environments.
  • Oversee system lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Establish and enforce infrastructure standards, configurations, and operational best practices.
  • CCTV & Physical Security Systems Provide oversight and technical leadership for site CCTV and video surveillance systems.
  • Ensure CCTV platforms are operational, properly configured, and aligned with security and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate CCTV system expansions, camera placements, storage capacity, and retention policies.
  • Work closely with security and facilities teams to support investigations, incident response, and compliance needs.
  • Capacity Planning & Performance Management Develop and maintain IT capacity planning models covering computer, storage, network bandwidth, and CCTV video retention requirements.
  • Analyze usage trends and forecast future demand to support organizational growth and operational changes.
  • Identify infrastructure bottlenecks and implement proactive solutions to prevent performance degradation.
  • Align capacity planning with budgeting, procurement, and long-range technology roadmaps.
  • Leadership & Team Management Manage and mentor IT staff, including system administrators, network engineers, and CCTV administrators.
  • Assign workloads, set priorities, and ensure service levels are met.
  • Support staff development, training, and performance management.
  • Vendor, Budget & Project Management Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and support agreements.
  • Develop and manage IT budgets related to infrastructure, CCTV systems, and capacity expansion.
  • Lead IT projects including infrastructure upgrades, CCTV deployments, and system integrations.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Governance, Documentation & Operations Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for infrastructure, CCTV systems, and capacity plans.
  • Support audits, inspections, and operational reviews.
  • Ensure IT operations align with organizational security and risk-management requirements.
