This internship provides hands-on experience supporting THG's enterprise network while learning from a team of seasoned Network Professionals. You will help configure, install, and manage multi vendor infrastructure—including switches, SDWAN appliances, firewalls, wireless bridges/access points, and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)—and assist with advanced troubleshooting while monitoring and responding to real-time operational alerts (e.g., node, interface, and circuit down). You will contribute to asset management by documenting and tracking stockroom and field deployed hardware and onboarding assets into monitoring and CMDB systems. Success looks like growing across the many facets of networking, elevating the reliability of our network services, and demonstrating progress aligned with THG core competencies and behaviors.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Strong interest in Networking, Network Security, or Infrastructure technologies
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks without constant supervision
  • Comfortable working in an environment with ambiguity and learning through hands-on experience
  • High attention to detail and care when operating in a production environment supporting mission-critical business operations.
  • Willingness to proactively ask for help or clarification, especially when tasks could impact network stability or cause outages
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and alignment with THG core competencies (e.g., collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving)
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, internal teams, and external vendors via email, chat, and other channels
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed, not to exceed 20%
  • Ability to work in an office environment and remotely from home
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for installing network equipment or organizing the stockroom
  • Comfortable working in a production environment that supports mission-critical operations
  • Must adhere to safety and security protocols when handling network infrastructure

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Currently an Undergrad with college coursework specifically aligned to information technology, with ambitions to work in infrastructure (not software development)

Responsibilities

  • Assist Network Professionals with day-to-day operations, assigned projects and tasks
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for network issues (Tier 3 assistance under guidance)
  • Monitor and respond to real-time alerts such as node down, interface down, and circuit down events
  • Documenting and tracking hardware in stock and deployed in the field
  • Updating monitoring systems and CMDB with accurate asset information
  • Configure, install, and manage network equipment including: Cisco, HPE, Unifi, Meraki, Palo Alto switches SD-WAN appliances, firewalls, wireless bridges, and wireless access points Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain network reliability and security standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and demonstrate THG core competencies in all tasks
  • Work directly with customers to troubleshoot network issues, gather information, and apply resolutions
  • Use a ticketing system to manage and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Communicate with internal teams, external vendors, and customers via email and chat systems while professionally representing the network team
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
