About The Position

NFPA Global Solutions (NGS) was founded in 2024 to improve fire, life, and electrical safety worldwide. By offering compliance solutions, digital products, and advisory services, NGS helps mitigate risks, enhance safety, and boost operational efficiency for businesses and governments of all shapes and sizes. NGS is a separate fully owned NFPA corporation and will introduce new offerings via acquisitions and the launch of new businesses. NFPA Global Solutions acquired Dyne Fire Protection Labs in May 2024. Dyne Fire Protection Labs is an independent testing laboratory with 25 years of experience providing quick, reliable, and independent analysis of fire sprinklers, firefighting foams, antifreeze solutions, and dry chemical agents to help building owners and/or their designated representatives fulfill various laboratory requirements in inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) standards. It is known for its in-depth technical competence, outstanding customer service and extremely fast delivery of test results. The IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing the information technology infrastructure and strategy across multiple subsidiary or portfolio companies. This role involves unifying IT systems, standardizing policies, integrating acquisitions, and ensuring seamless operations that support the unique goals of each business. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with proven hands-on technical expertise, and strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse IT needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT management, with demonstrated experience in a multi-entity or holding company environment. At least 5 years managing M&A / Integration projects.
  • Experience with specific enterprise software common to the company's industry (e.g., ERP, WMS, LIMS).
  • Proficiency in operating systems network administration tools.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale IT projects, including system migrations and integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise systems, cloud platforms, network administration, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management capabilities are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Professional Services Automation, preferred.
  • Experience with or operating in the Testing, Inspection, certification and Compliance industry, preferred.
  • Lean 6 Sigma and other process simplification, desired.
  • Experience with AI enabled tools to improve process efficiency and reliability, desired.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and oversee the needs of each individual subsidiary or portfolio company in seeking to optimize the operational workflows that govern daily IT support, infrastructure administration, and service delivery to ensure high reliability, system uptime, and end-user satisfaction.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of intelligent automation, IoT solutions, and AI-enabled systems that streamline business, field-services, laboratories, certification, and other operations to drive measurable process improvements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the corporate leadership and the management teams of the various subsidiaries or portfolio companies to align IT initiatives with business goals.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, hardware, and software solutions to improve efficiency, security, and growth across various subsidiaries or portfolio companies.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, telecommunications, and cloud services for each subsidiary or portfolio company.
  • Participate in M&A due diligence as NGS seeks to acquire new companies.
  • Evaluate what risks and opportunities exist within these companies relative to integration and operational needs.
  • Build budgets, plans with dates, deliverables and contingencies that demonstrate an ability to execute integration strategies post-acquisition.
  • Execute on potential synergies, due diligence items, integrations and improvements post-acquisition.
  • Create and implement detailed IT integration plans, protocols, and procedures to align systems (e.g., ERP, HRIS, LIMS, Microsoft 365), data, applications, security and compliance to comply with company standards.
  • Coordinate the installation, migration, and maintenance of hardware, software, network, and cloud infrastructure to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Manage the overall IT budget for NGS and all portfolio companies, including cost-benefit analysis for new technology purchases and projects.
  • Negotiate and administer contracts with IT vendors, outsourcers, and service providers across all business entities.
  • Hire, manage, guide and ensure execution of the IT related services contracted to outsourced service providers and other 3rd parties.
  • Conduct regular audits of IT assets, licenses, and contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Installation and configuration: Install, update, and configure hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Maintenance and monitoring: Perform routine maintenance, including system backups and file recovery, and monitor system performance and integrity.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to prevent disruption.
  • User support: Provide technical support to users and manage user accounts.
  • Documentation: Document problems, solutions, and system configurations.
  • Standardization: Develop preferred hardware, software and services that would allow for commonality across the various businesses.
  • Integration: Develop and execute plans that unify disparate systems across the businesses and prioritize such unification.
  • Select, implement and enforce company-wide IT security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Lead efforts to ensure all portfolio companies comply with relevant industry standards and data protection regulations.
  • Create and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the entire enterprise.
  • Manage IT projects across multiple portfolio companies, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to stakeholder expectations.
