Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science.
  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience supervising others.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office software skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all IT departmental objectives and activities are aligned to the Magna Employee Charter and Magna Corporate Constitution.
  • Adheres to Technical System Procedures, Quality instructions, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, confidentiality requirements and to all Division’s policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the on-going training and development of the IT team and ensuring that there is adequate overlapping knowledge of the IT systems.
  • Develops and supports programming solutions in PHP, HTML, JavaScript, VB.NET, and T-SQL to support business requirements.
  • Administers and supports Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Databases, Cisco TCP/IP network, and VMware ESXi virtualization infrastructure.
  • Provides helpdesk services for all systems within the IT scope of responsibility.
  • Conveys information to Management regarding all consequential operational problems.
  • Executes data and system backups according to established procedures.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Perform special projects in support of the organizations business objectives.
  • Evaluates business needs and objectives and goals; research products available; obtains necessary equipment; and develops policies, procedures, and processes to best meet those needs.
  • Manages IT projects and resources from organization and planning, to testing and implementation.
  • Ensures operating system and software updates are implemented per company's guidelines.
  • Ensures the thoroughness and timely completion of scheduled performance reviews for all employees within the department.
  • Ensures data backup and disaster recovery plans are in place, and security of network.
  • Provides leadership and daily direction to IT team.
  • Oversees the manufacturing (MES), shipping and customer broadcast systems; Cimplicity, RSLinx, and MS SQL installations; Microsoft Windows Servers; and applications such as, Microsoft Office, SAP and others.
  • Manages hardware such as servers, PCs, printers, barcode printers, barcode scanners, touch screens, etc.
  • Manage the budgetary (capital & operating) requirements of the Division's computer systems, with attention to budget planning, adherence to budget projections, procurement, and monthly expenditures.
