About The Position

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead its IBM Z/OS mainframe operations, supporting critical financial systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the mainframe environment while managing a team of 10–15 professionals. The IT Manager will drive strategic planning, oversee operational execution, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable and secure infrastructure services. This position includes 24/7 on-call responsibilities and requires the creation and management of a rotating on-call schedule for the team.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with IBM mainframe systems including z/OS 15/17, CICS, DB2.
  • Strong knowledge of mainframe performance monitoring and optimization tools.
  • Expertise in mainframe security practices and tools.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in vendor management and procurement.
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GuardIEn and Gen development tools.
  • Experience in financial systems or regulated environments.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or formal training.
  • Experience leading modernization or transformation initiatives in mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 10–15 mainframe engineers and analysts.
  • Oversee IBM Z/OS infrastructure including z/OS 15 and 17, CICS, DB2, and related technologies.
  • Ensure system stability, performance, and security across financial platforms.
  • Monitor and optimize mainframe performance using industry-standard tools.
  • Manage incident response and resolution for mainframe-related issues.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support infrastructure needs.
  • Maintain compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary on-call manager 24/7 for mainframe incidents.
  • Develop and maintain a rotating on-call schedule for team coverage.
  • Support procurement and vendor management processes.
  • Stay current with evolving technologies and industry trends.
