About The Position

The IT Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all Information Technology (IT) and communications (C4I) functions in support of Detachment 1 and RF-R operations. This role provides technical leadership across enterprise IT, tactical communications, cloud services, cybersecurity, and exercise support, ensuring compliance, secure, and reliable IT services in garrison and deployed training environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of DoD communications experience within the last ten (10) years
  • Minimum five (5) years of DoD infrastructure and USAF End User Device (EUD) experience within the last ten (10) years
  • IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+)
  • USAF Communications Administrative Privileges
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Assist the IT/C4 Director in planning, managing, tracking, and executing IT and C4I support for RF-R and Detachment 1 training events in accordance with the JELC
  • Serve as liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including tasked units, host base agencies, and HQ ACC/A3J
  • Coordinate delivery of communications capabilities including NIPRNet, SIPRNet, DSN, VoIP/VoSIP, SATCOM, LMR, LINK systems, IW, and spectrum management
  • Develop, manage, and maintain NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and commercial SharePoint environments
  • Coordinate creation and management of user accounts, access permissions, training, and network credentials
  • Design and implement a secure virtual office environment supporting distributed and mobile operations
  • Ensure and maintain JNTC certification requirements
  • Apply USAF Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) methodologies across all JELC phases and support lessons learned integration
  • Engineer, configure, and manage IT and radio communications infrastructure for mobile and distributed training exercises
  • Configure and manage tactical and exercise technologies including MPU-5 mesh networks, PLUM SATIII, AWS services, SHOUT NANO, Somewear Labs, and mobile devices
  • Support virtual exercise planning and execution through secure conferencing and collaboration platforms
  • Monitor and manage IT and radio systems during live exercise execution
  • Serve as Primary or Alternate COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) for the Det 1 COMSEC account
  • Operate and maintain mobile communications systems in austere environments (desert, woodland, maritime)
  • Understand maritime communications constraints and frequency restrictions
  • Operate government vehicles and trailers in accordance with applicable AFIs and base instructions
  • Load, transport, secure, and deploy communications equipment in compliance with Air Force and NTSB standards
  • Perform other duties as required to support Detachment and exercise mission success
