About The Position

The Enterprise Applications Manager provides oversight and leadership for services, processes and resources related to clinical or business services for the SCHS organization and Community Connect affiliates. The Manager is responsible for working with key stakeholders, executives, vendors, technical architects, the project management office, and analysts to ensure that applications are implemented and maintained in alignment with the goals of the organization. The Manager is responsible for defining enterprise-level applications and for participating in identifying operational system approaches to support strategic initiatives throughout the organization. As part of the ongoing management of the area, the manager is accountable for managing budgets, maintaining maintenance contracts, developing and maintaining prospect roadmaps for projects including timelines and the application lifecycle. This position directly manages caregivers in the Information Technology department.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or combination of education and experience to perform full scope of the role.
  • Must pass an assessment exam prior to qualifying for an interview, unless already Epic certified.
  • Epic certification in 1 application related to the service line being managed within 1 year of hire.
  • Minimum one (1) years of leadership experience (i.e.: project management, supervisor, team lead, etc.) and five (5) years of information management, healthcare information technology, or healthcare operations experience.
  • Knowledge and experience leading complex teams and projects.
  • Epic or Workday experience required based on service line being managed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. This may require overnight travel. Must pass Epic certification exam within 3 months of completing Epic certification training courses.
  • Additional experience with Hospital-based and Ambulatory Clinic-based applications such as Epic, 3M, GE, Workday, Cerner, Allscripts or McKesson.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for facilitating and guiding the application team, obtaining resources when required, and removing impediments that keep the team from doing their work.
  • Hires, directs, coaches and monitors the performance of all direct reports to develop and maintain a high-performance team that meets organizational and department goals. Provides structure to engage staff and celebrate successes.
  • Assists the application analysts in prioritizing work and directing team tasks.
  • Identifies ways to move the organization forward using roadmaps, process improvement and strategic thinking. This requires understanding business needs, issues, and operational goals. Socializes technology development by rounding regularly and encouraging adoption of new application features.
  • Ensures technology is current and appropriate to meet the needs of a growing health system and ensures systems are in place to allow caregivers to do their jobs efficiently.
  • Develops and maintains upgrade/new functionality roadmaps, understands new development impact, and ensures applications are upgraded on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for budget development, regular monitoring of budget allocations, and meeting all operational targets for areas within span of control.
  • Monitors and ensures all direct reports are current with compliance and safety requirements. Implements and manages all organizational safety directives and goals.
  • Develops and manages project plans and time/cost projections, adjusting work streams as appropriate; allocates resources, prioritizes tasks and escalates risk and issues to ensure milestones and deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Monitors and manages project performance utilizing project, or implementation tracking tools and dashboard.
  • Manages overall team performance, establishes key performance indicator metrics and benchmarking to drive team success and identify opportunities for improvement across the team.
  • Provides and oversees team's delivery of customer service in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate.
  • Supports Lean principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change.
  • Collaborates with teams to review processes and identify/implement opportunities for improvements, applying Value Improvement Practice concepts and tools.
  • Supports the vision, mission and values of the organization in all respects.
  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests.
  • Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the organization's corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violation of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings.
