Our Information Technology team, in our Chicago office, is seeking an IT Intern. This role will support the IT Coordinator in maintaining the office technology in Chicago and also remotely for a number of team members across the country. Most duties will be performed in an office environment. dbHMS currently operates with both hybrid and remote-only work policies. The work typically requires the use of hands to type, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. At dbHMS, we rely on our Information Technologists to manage a variety of computer operations, monitor console control panel and make procedural and/or operational corrections as necessary. This position will support the office and IT Coordinator with its IT needs. The position is part time with a minimum of 20-30 hours of work a week with flexible work hours. The ideal candidate would have a basic working knowledge of networked information systems and a strong ability to troubleshoot and find solutions. This is a year-round position and requires a minimum commitment of 12 months. The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong foundation in networked computer systems, is well organized and willing to learn and grow.

Requirements

Knowledge of IT infrastructure including servers, workstations, firewalls, and switches.
Ability to initialize and operate computer hardware and software systems.
Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users.
Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
Experience in systems administration with a focus on Azure and Microsoft 365.
Knowledge of Azure services and architecture, including Azure Active Directory.
Willingness to work shifts outside of regular office hours (including weekends).
Ability to lift objects up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assist with maintenance and support of technology infrastructure including hardware, software, and network systems.
Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of server and user hardware and software.
Create and maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures.
Setup and configure user accounts, permissions, and remote access.
Assist with machine setup, installing desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and other IT related equipment.
Assist with server updates, patch update, and data backups.
Asist with IT needs for onboarding new staff members.
Work closely with the IT Coordinator to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Process / maintain / organize all IT documentation per IT Coordinator’s instructions.
Operate and manage the company helpdesk system.
