About The Position

The IT Intern will provide first level support to internal and external Football Operations staff. Support can include system support, user support, testing, and/or documentation. The IT Intern will run from April 2026 through April 2027. This position is based in the Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park, MI, but will also require travel to Ford Field. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The IT Intern position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following: Investigate end user issues and implement possible solutions Traditional desktop support, including computer hardware/software imaging and repair & maintenance of computer systems, desktops, and peripherals Create documentation for end users on applications and processes Support video system hardware utilized by coaching and personnel departments Manage of Active Directory user & computer accounts and group policies Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the end-users on the network Educate users on basic functionality of software and hardware Provide computer orientation to new and existing company staff Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, by phone, email or ticketing system Maintain and update computer hardware and software inventories on a regular basis NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team Maintain professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills The ability to gather and analyze information skillfully and develop solutions quickly and effectively Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands Will keep appropriate information confidential Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated into the position description if they are ongoing.

Requirements

  • Recent college graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • Ability to create and implement operating system images
  • Excellent general computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Ability to effectively diagnose and repair computer hardware and software problems (In-person and remotely)
  • Ability to work well with people in a support and training role
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours in support of games at the venue, as required. This includes evening and weekend duties
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • May require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Meijer Performance Training Facility
  • A valid Driver’s License and good driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a professional sports or entertainment venue preferred
  • Technical Certificate preferred
