About The Position

Kickstart your career in Information Technology with a hands-on summer internship at JL Clark, a leading manufacturer with a strong reputation for innovation, quality, and growth. This June–August internship offers real-world experience supporting IT operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment, not software development, but the critical technology that keeps our business running. High-performing interns may have the opportunity to be considered for future full-time roles. Under the direction of the IT Systems & Security Manager, the IT Intern will play a hands-on role in supporting day-to-day IT operations and gain exposure to a wide range of technologies in a manufacturing environment. This internship is designed for a motivated individual with a foundational technical background who is eager to learn, take initiative, and develop their skills in real-world scenarios. The intern will assist with Help Desk support, IT asset management, printer identification, and on-site technical tasks across the Rockford Metal and Plastics plants. This includes working directly with end users to troubleshoot issues, supporting system and network operations, and contributing to ongoing IT and cybersecurity initiatives. The role offers the opportunity to engage with both office and production environments, providing a well-rounded understanding of how IT supports business operations. This position is ideal for someone who is “tech-curious” and adaptable—someone who may not have deep experience in every area but demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and a proactive mindset. The intern will collaborate closely with the IT team, receiving mentorship and practical experience in infrastructure, security, and systems support, while also taking ownership of assigned tasks and projects.
