About The Position

The IT Help Desk Support Intern role is a supervised, training-focused internship designed to support the IT Technical Support Specialist (TSS) team while ensuring adherence to organizational security, compliance, and governance standards. Interns provide administrative and basic technical support functions and are not authorized to perform independent system configuration, infrastructure modification, or security-impacting changes. All technical activities must be assigned, approved, and supervised by authorized IT personnel in accordance with CRF IT governance standards and applicable regulatory and security frameworks.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems and support concepts.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and confidentiality awareness.
  • Ability to follow structured technical and security procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work within a professional office environment, in a tteam and individually.
  • Utilize good judgment and discretion in the handling of confidential information.
  • Must be detail oriented, highly organized, and can work independently.
  • Mid-level computer proficiency in MS Office: Outlook [email system] Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, internet navigation, and the ability to learn new technologies and databases.
  • May be required to work long hours and a varied schedule.
  • Travelling throughout various locations in the New York City area.
  • Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds several times a week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist TSS staff with assigned operational tasks.
  • Support ticket documentation and administrative intake processes.
  • Provide basic user guidance only when directed by authorized IT personnel.
  • Device staging and preparation
  • Equipment inventory handling
  • Basic deployment preparation activities
  • Non-production configuration assistance when assigned
  • Follow all CRF IT security and acceptable use policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all system, user, and organizational data.
  • Immediately report suspected security, compliance, or data protection concerns.
  • Assist with asset tracking and documentation.
  • Support audit preparation tasks when assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records of assigned activities.
  • Responsibilities may include analyzing data to identify patterns, trends, or bottlenecks, and creating dashboards to help management make informed decisions.
  • Other tasks may involve challenging assignments or a specific long-term project to own, which require navigating obstacles and driving the project to completion.
  • An Intern must review and acknowledge all applicable company policies and procedures, such as: Confidentiality Agreement, Anti-Harassment Policy, IT Acceptable Use Policy, Data Protection, Security Incident Reporting Procedure, and Change Management Awareness
  • Contributes to the overall success of the organization by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or designee, and being able to pivot with ever-changing priorities and newly added internship-related responsibilities that arise based on business changes, needs, and demands.
