About The Position

The IT Hardware Deployment Technician , in support of the FAA BNATCS contract, is responsible for building, configuring, and deploying computers and related hardware to end-users across the organization. The IT Hardware Deployment Technician will ensure that all devices are properly imaged, tested, and delivered in accordance with company standards, while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Computer Build & Deployment Assemble, configure, and image desktops, laptops, and mobile devices according to organizational standards. Install required operating systems, applications, and security tools. Perform quality assurance checks to ensure devices are fully functional before deployment. Deploy computers to end-users, ensuring smooth setup and handoff. Hardware & Inventory Management Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, asset tags, and deployment logs. Track incoming and outgoing equipment, ensuring proper documentation. Assist with hardware upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle management. Support & Troubleshooting Provide first-line support for hardware issues during deployment. Escalate complex technical problems to higher-level IT teams when necessary. Document common issues and resolutions to improve future deployments. Process Improvement Follow established build and deployment procedures, while recommending improvements for efficiency. Ensure compliance with IT security policies and organizational standards. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the IT depot. This role is contingent upon award of the associated program. Requirements

  • Minimum of a High school diploma with 4 years of experience, Associate's degree with 2 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with experience in IT support, hardware deployment, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems; familiarity with imaging tools (SCCM, Intune, MDT, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of networking, user account setup, and security configurations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust as required by the contract.
  • While this is a remote capable role, candidates must be local to the DC/Maryland/NoVA area.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Fundamentals are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with asset management systems and ticketing tools.
  • Familiarity with enterprise environments and ITIL practices.
