About The Position

Backed by world-class investors, Instawork is seeking an IT Generalist to join its IT team. This role involves building and maintaining enterprise systems, networks, and technologies, reporting to the Head of IT and Security. The IT Generalist will be a critical team member, requiring strong general IT knowledge, analytical and troubleshooting skills, proficiency in workflow automation, and adaptability. The position involves identifying and building solutions that impact business processes and workflows, and interfacing with internal and external vendors and consultants. This is a 3-month contract position with potential for permanent employment, requiring the employee to be in the office 5 days a week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines: technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management, and/or operations
  • 2+ years of working experience with agile methods and processes
  • Service-oriented, collaborative, and security mindset, dedication to best practices, and continuous improvements
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to self-organize
  • In-depth experience with Google Workspace/G-Suite management
  • Experience in troubleshooting techniques (including RCA) and ticket triage
  • Experience with modern OS, e.g., MacOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android
  • Experience managing endpoints in an enterprise environment, preferably with MDM software, e.g., Jamf, JumpCloud
  • Experience with user management through IdP services, e.g., Google groups, Okta groups, MS AD, and/or other related technologies
  • Experience with business SaaS applications management, especially around collaboration technologies (e.g., chat, VoIP calls, video conferencing)
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on assigned projects
  • Ability to work in a changing environment while maintaining quality and productivity
  • Ability to plan, drive, and support multiple concurrent projects and initiatives
  • Ability to carry 25 lbs. up and down stairs

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of working experience with software development or security engineering
  • Experience with service automation through coding/scripting
  • Experience with Django development framework (Django admin)
  • Experience with ITSM and HRIS integrations
  • Experience with IT and InfoSec/Privacy industry-standard compliance frameworks
  • Experience with VPN and/or Zero Trust configuration
  • Experience with Cloud (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerized environments
  • Ability to learn/work with networking devices configuration and troubleshooting, e.g., firewalls, switches, and routers/access points

Responsibilities

  • Receive and assess IT support tickets from employees and address IT issues in a timely, professional, and properly prioritized manner.
  • Assist with account management, including hardware, software, and application permissions, as well as other general IT/network requests as necessary.
  • Work with external IT partners/vendors to coordinate the delivery and return of IT assets
  • Serve as an escalation point for the IT helpdesk support tickets, escalating issues as needed.
  • Provide on-site IT/network support for internal employees when needed
  • Support higher-level IT and Security initiatives, including implementations, evaluations, and integrations of programs and processes
  • Maintain updated IT documentation
  • Adhere to responsible change management, documentation, and business continuity best practices and processes in coordination with and in support of all team members.
  • Work collaboratively with other IT team members, internal stakeholders, and external IT partners to solve problems and develop solutions that support our team and business.
  • Maintained updated project trackers, reports, or dashboards as helpful and efficient to support IT projects and initiatives.
  • On-call duty as rotation requires (global time zone)
