This role supports municipal utility operations by managing and securing the enterprise solutions application and related systems, integrating applications, and developing automated, data-driven workflows. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following: Key Responsibilities Data Analytics: Manage the secure transport of application and system data. Design and implement robust methods for data collection, organization, and analysis, specifically for the purpose of preparing clean, structured data to drive process automation and workflow development. Database Administration (DBA): Manage and maintain the municipal utility databases (primarily SQL), ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security. This role encompasses all technical and operational duties necessary to guarantee data accuracy, system availability, and functionality, including data moving between applications. Outside Application Support (Provided Service): Serve as the technical liaison between utility users and external vendors, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the functional use of each software and its purpose, the data-retention, data-collection, and data-usage related to each third-party software, systems, and service. A special focus will be placed on key systems such as GIS, metering data collections and billing platforms. Inside Application Support: Design, implement, and manage digital systems essential for developing and deploying new workflow automation solutions. Success in this role requires expertise in process mapping, effective collaboration with stakeholders, platform proficiency (e.g., Flowfinity), and strong communication to deliver highly efficient, data-driven workflows. Industrial IoT: Basic competency in the full lifecycle of connected devices and systems, from smart sensors to industrial controls. Logic to reading \ understanding programming language (Python, C++), security best practices, and ensuring systems communicate securely and efficiently. General Stewardship: Integrate, innovate, improve and support new and existing systems for managing data/information from all functions within the utility. The position receives guidance and direction from two key leaders: the LMU Utility Director, who oversees work scope, operational priorities and workflow, and the IT Manager, who provides technical supervision and system integrity, both of whom report to the Mayor.
