About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor, performs the essential duties of a laborer at the Nutrition and Education Service Center.

Requirements

Requires High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of 2 years of experience
A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

Assist in packing home delivered meals to include individual portions as well as bulk containers
Must be able to read order form and accurately count to fill the order
Requires placement of Oliver trays on to the Oliver Packing System to seal the trays
Must pack and deliver meals to senior centers and nutrition sites
Clean and sanitize pots, pans, cooking utensils and delivery equipment
Use proper methods and sanitizing solutions approved by local Health Department and utilize the three-compartment method of sanitizing
Must lift and stack cases weighing up to 50lbs
Assist cooks with food preparation as needed to include; peeling vegetables with a peeler, pulling food out of storage, opening cans with electric and manual can opener, cutting food by hand with a chef's knife
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
