After initial training in-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week. Please note that we are not currently hiring fully remote positions. All candidates must have the ability to work in one of our tech offices. Our tech office for this role is in Lansing, Michigan. Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our IT Division as an IT Document Automation Software Developer. Responsibilities include developing on-demand and batch company forms using Inspire and Documaker that include automated features. This position primarily involves visual development and automation of various forms including light scripting for advanced functionality. A technical, organized, and detail-oriented person would be a good fit for this role. Coding experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate, so non-programming majors are encouraged to apply as well. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience is required
  • Must be able to learn and effectively use tools and techniques as practiced, acquired, or adopted within the IT Division
  • Please note that the ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship is a requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is a plus
  • Experience with basic programming and scripting such as Java and Javascript, XML, document generation, PDF, Postscript, batch processing, etc. are a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for driving improvement by finding and implementing solutions to new challenges
  • Coding experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate, so non-programming majors are encouraged to apply as well.
