About The Position

Sacramento Ultrasound Institute (SUI) is seeking a versatile Full Stack Developer to support the institution’s academic and operational systems. This position will focus on developing and maintaining internal applications, enhancing the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS), and supporting key integrations that improve the experience of students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem solver comfortable working across software development, system integrations, and general IT support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in full-stack development (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Node.js, PHP, or similar).
  • Experience working with SQL databases and building API-driven applications.
  • Familiarity with LMS (preferably Moodle) and/or SIS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of system integrations and data exchange methods.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and general IT concepts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing complex workflows.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for improving systems and user experience.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept through implementation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with healthcare-related data standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Zapier).
  • Background supporting academic or training institutions.
  • Working knowledge of Linux server administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain internal web-based applications that support academic programs and administrative workflows.
  • Support the design and rollout of a clinical site management application, including ongoing improvements and feature enhancements.
  • Translate functional requirements into intuitive, reliable software solutions.
  • Improve, maintain, and customize SUI’s Student Information System.
  • Administer and enhance the Learning Management System (Moodle), including plugins, reporting tools, and user experience improvements.
  • Work with academic and administrative staff to ensure both systems operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between internal systems and third-party services.
  • Support interoperability projects, which may include: HL7 message processing FHIR-based APIs Other healthcare, education, and administrative data exchanges
  • Implement automation solutions to streamline information flow across departments.
  • Provide tier 2–3 technical support for critical institutional systems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting software, servers, networking, or identity management issues when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with SUI leadership to evaluate and deploy new technologies that support institutional growth.
