Information Technology (IT) Director Job Description Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world’s aviation leaders. We specialize in precision engineering, MRO, and innovative solutions that address parts at risk of obsolescence. Serving more than 1,500 customers across the commercial, civil, and defense aerospace markets, Ontic employs over 1,300 people across seven sites and four time zones. Since 2019, we have more than doubled in size and continue to grow at pace. Our Creedmoor, NC site is home to several specialist businesses within the Ontic Group, including Firstmark, Twin Commander, and Metro Merlin, forming a key hub of expertise and operational excellence. Our team is looking for an Information Technology (IT) Director to join them. You will report to the Global IT Director and will have a hybrid work schedule in Creedmoor, North Carolina.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in IT solutions delivery, including leadership responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience with Epicor ERP systems preferred
  • Strong background in cybersecurity strategy and risk management
  • Experience supporting IT operations within a manufacturing environment
  • M&A integration experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage Technical Implementations & Application/Infrastructure Support Team(s) (ServiceDesk, End User Computing support, system admin and application development) in delivering service and projects with the constant focus on maximizing value to the organization.
  • Design technical solutions and integrations, ensure success of software implementations, and provide ongoing support.
  • Coach and lead a team of technical infrastructure/service delivery and software implementation & support specialists (full-time and contractors) in accordance with Agile, ITIL and TOGAF methodology.
  • Serve as a cross-functional business partner to identify and prioritize product enhancements, third-party integrations, and upgrades.
  • Manage key vendor relationships, product development, invoicing, and escalations.
  • Conduct buy vs. build analyses.
  • Defines end user technology requirements by working with business sponsors and key users ensuring requirements deliver a value creation business outcome.
  • Travel both domestically and internationally approximately two times per year
