We are currently recruiting an IT Director of Workforce Experience, to play a key role in our Workforce Experience Technology product group focused on the curation of workforce solutions and experiences focused on learning experiences, productivity & collaboration and end-to-end field experiences. This individual will be responsible for synergizing across the various products of learning & development, workforce services and overall field experiences by participating in the next frontier of field experiences that will be envisioned thru our Connext Plus Program. The Workforce Experience Product Group is a diverse product group that owns Learning & Development (L&D) products, Workforce services and overall field experience. The L&D Team owns all capabilities that support the J&J Innovative Medicine learning and development journey across several personas. In this position, the learning experience Leader will work closely with the Learning Excellence Center team and other J&J IM product teams to provide technology direction for the Learning capabilities. In this capacity, the IT Director is expected to provide leadership around product ownership, solution shaping, business process/analysis, road mapping, release management, quality and compliance. The role requires direct interaction with business partners to understand the business processes and translate technical & functional requirements to elevate learning experience products. It also requires strategic thinking and shaping skills to develop product roadmaps and technology solutions to meet the needs of a modern learner. The Workforce Experience Product Group also owns Technology Curation. The Technology Curation team works to remove friction by shaping J&J Innovative Medicine technology curiosity into notable experiences. The IT Director should have a passion for productivity enabling technologies and strive to apply them for an outstanding Digital Employee Experience (DEX). Our Frontline workforce persona consists of all employees that directly touch our patients and customers. This includes our therapeutic area sales teams, two call centers, and our patient and professional services organizations. The IT Director will focus on innovative ways to create, compute, connect, and collaborate for Frontline workers. This includes understanding and applying use cases for emerging technologies, such as GenAI and ubiquitous computing, to improve frontline efficiency. The IT Director will also be key in crafting exceptional service experiences in event management, employee onboarding, and hybrid working. The IT Director will exemplify a strong strategic approach in curating technologies that will elevate customer experiences, drive deeper insight generation, and contribute to a coordinated workforce experience.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor Degree and at minimum of 10+ years of IT experience preferably in User Experience, Computer Science, Technology, or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience product ownership and delivering solutions to support business objectives.
  • Knowledge of productivity and collaboration platforms including SharePoint, virtual meetings tools, desktop and mobile operating systems, GenAI, digital platforms, and communication tools.
  • Serves as an authority resource supporting one or more areas, processes, or technologies around platforms and technologies for capabilities enablement.
  • A strong proponent of change, primarily by championing change within and across organizational boundaries and processes and standards.
  • Proven expertise in product ownership, Agile methodologies, and JIRA management.
  • Deep understanding of Learning & Development business processes and how to leverage GenAI and analytics tools to create impactful solutions.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with a track record of leading large-scale digital transformation projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with analytics technologies (i.e. PowerBI, PowerAutomate, NLP, LRS, etc..).
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex tech concepts into compelling stories for stakeholders.
  • Experience in vendor management, requirements gathering, and story mapping.
  • Experience Managing and Supporting Technology Platforms – Lifecycle Management /Technology Enhancements.
  • A general understanding of Hight Performing Teams and OKRs.
  • This position may require up to 5% travel, primarily in the NJ, PA area and occasional travel across North America is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A broad understanding of Learning & Development business processes and technologies is preferred.
  • A broad knowledge of field sales processes such as field sales hierarchies, and field sales reporting is preferred.
  • 8 years of commercial pharmaceutical experience supporting sales organization, call center, or service group.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategic Initiatives: Drive forward-thinking projects that leverage GenAI and other emerging technologies to create personalized, scalable, and innovative learning experiences for our diverse workforce.
  • Shape the Future of L&D: Develop and execute a compelling product roadmap that aligns with our strategic goals, including the adoption of AI-powered tools to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention. Responsible for leading the strategy and program execution of the next frontier of learning experiences by decommissioning Janssen Learn platform and identifying next generation ecosystem.
  • Champion Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and platform owners to implement groundbreaking solutions that elevate our learning capabilities.
  • Harness AI & Data: Utilize analytics and AI-driven insights (e.g., Power BI, PowerAutomate LRS, NLP, and GenAI models) to inform decision-making, measure outcomes, and continuously improve our learning platforms.
  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with leadership to define vision, prioritize features, and translate complex business needs into innovative, actionable technology solutions. Ability to connect multiple project portfolio initiatives into a larger program to drive a end-to-end business transformation in the field experience.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage product lifecycle, release planning, and compliance standards, ensuring security, privacy, and quality across all initiatives.
  • Foster a Culture of Innovation: Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative environment that encourages diverse perspectives and continuous learning, inspiring teams to push the boundaries of what's possible.
  • Operate as a technology strategist: Across computing, creating, connecting, and/or collaborating domains, shaping the experience and technology strategy for frontline workers across J&J Innovative Medicine North America & Global Commercial Strategy Organization (GCSO).
  • Develop a cohesive gen AI and Microsoft Co-pilot strategy to elevate workforce productivity, search for content and deliver personalized impact.
  • Partner directly with Technology Services: StAT, Innovative Medicine Heads of Technology, and Technology Leads to solution unmet needs and ensure focus, accountability and execution across the frontline worker landscape
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs): For the frontline workforce by leveraging quantitative metrics such as Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
