About The Position

The IT Developer Intern supports the City’s integration, application, and data movement needs by assisting with scripts, small applications, and APIs under guidance. This role helps troubleshoot basic integration and data issues, document solutions, and collaborate with internal teams to support reliable data flow between business systems. This internship is intended for a junior or senior Computer Information Systems student seeking practical experience in development, automation, and municipal IT operations. Compensation for this role is $16.50/hr. This is an onsite role that will be located in our offices on Renner Blvd in Olathe Kansas. They are responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance on a variety of software and hardware issues, ensuring end users have the tools to be successful.

Requirements

Experience: One year of technical support experience is required unless enrolled in a relevant degree program.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

Provides IT support related to technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems; provides technical support for desktop and hardware issues.
Responds timely to incoming inquiries and system alerts and notifications through service tickets.
Communicates effectively with customers via phone, email, deskside, and chat keeping them informed of ticket progress and notifying them of impending changes and resolutions.
Documents user issues and troubleshooting steps within service desk solutions.
