About The Position

The IT Citrix Infrastructure Lead is a senior technical leader responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Capital Health’s enterprise Citrix environment. This role serves as the technical authority for virtual desktop and application delivery, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performance access to clinical and business systems across both on-prem and cloud platforms. In addition to hands-on engineering responsibilities, this role provides technical leadership to cross-functional teams, influences long-term platform strategy, and drives modernization initiatives related to Citrix, VMware, Azure, and storage infrastructure. The Lead also ensures alignment with organizational goals, security standards, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including:
  • 5+ years leading design, implementation, and support of enterprise Citrix environments
  • 3+ years of experience with VMware virtualization and Microsoft Azure integration
  • Prior experience in a technical leadership or mentoring capacity
  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or government
  • Deep expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, StoreFront, and Delivery Controllers
  • Advanced knowledge of Citrix ADC (NetScaler), Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS), MCS, and Citrix WEM
  • Experience with FSLogix or Citrix Profile Management for profile and session optimization
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Citrix session performance, access issues, and app delivery
  • Strong proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and virtual infrastructure best practices
  • Solid experience integrating Citrix workloads with Azure, including Azure AD and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Expertise in Windows Server environments (2019–2025), GPO, Active Directory
  • Understanding of enterprise storage systems (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage) as they relate to VDI performance
  • Hands-on scripting/automation using PowerShell
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust, MFA, and remote access security best practices
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks: HIPAA, NIST, PCI-DSS, CIS Benchmarks

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable Citrix solutions across on-prem and hybrid environments
  • Define standards, best practices, and governance models for Citrix infrastructure, user access, and VDI operations
  • Collaborate with cloud, network, security, and application teams to ensure performance and compliance
  • Guide Citrix integration with Azure for hybrid workloads and future-state virtualization strategies
  • Drive automation and standardization through PowerShell scripting and infrastructure-as-code
  • Oversee Citrix-related monitoring, capacity planning, alerting, and incident response processes
  • Lead root cause analysis for high-impact Citrix incidents and guide remediation plans
  • Mentor and coach Citrix engineers and infrastructure staff to elevate platform support and delivery
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for audits, security reviews, and vendor engagements
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture and cloud transformation strategies involving Citrix and Azure
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and tools that enhance user experience, security, and platform resilience
  • Participate in budget planning and vendor management for Citrix licensing, support, and infrastructure needs
  • Lead platform upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle planning (e.g., Windows Server, VMware, Citrix LTSR)
  • Produce and maintain detailed design documentation, SOPs, and knowledge transfer materials
