About The Position

Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven IT Category Manager – Procurement (Software & Services) to lead sourcing, contracting, and supplier management initiatives across global and regional operations. This role partners with senior stakeholders to develop and execute category strategies that optimize cost, mitigate risk, and enhance operational efficiency. You will bring deep expertise in software procurement, market dynamics, and contract negotiation, while leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making. This position requires a highly analytical mindset, strong stakeholder influence, and the ability to manage complex supplier relationships across multiple workstreams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of IT procurement and contracts experience
  • Proven track record managing complex procurements, including RFx development, contract drafting, negotiations, and contract administration
  • Extensive expertise in enterprise software agreements
  • Demonstrated success negotiating large-scale software and hardware agreements, particularly engineering and technical platforms
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams
  • Analytical, data-driven approach to decision-making, including spend analysis and cost optimization strategies
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and leading contract lifecycle activities

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Deep knowledge of global software licensing models (subscription, token-based, multi-site, enterprise, cloud)
  • Experience with ERP-based procurement systems
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures through contract rationalization
  • Professional certification (ISM, NCMA, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies for IT software and services
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including RFx development, supplier selection, and contract negotiation
  • Manage enterprise-level software agreements and service contracts
  • Analyze spend data, market trends, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Lead contract renewals and drive continuous improvement in vendor performance and value delivery
  • Support supplier diversity initiatives and foster an inclusive supply base
