SummaryIT Asset & Software Licensing Analyst II / Senior | Vendor & Asset Management Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for optimizing IT assets and driving cost-effective software management? We’re looking for a Senior Software Asset Management Analyst to take ownership of software acquisition, compliance, and license renewals while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role requires critical thinking, executive-level communication, and negotiation expertise to influence key stakeholders and optimize IT investments. What You’ll Do: Software Acquisition & Compliance – Lead negotiations, manage renewals, and ensure compliance with licensing agreements. Financial Strategy – Oversee budgeting and forecasting for IT software, driving cost efficiency and financial alignment. Enterprise Standards – Develop and implement IT purchasing policies and asset management best practices. Asset & License Management – Maintain entitlement records, license agreements, and maintenance contracts with precision. What You Bring: Strategic Negotiation – Proven experience securing favorable software agreements and ensuring licensing compliance. Financial & Business Acumen – Ability to forecast IT asset expenditures and optimize software investments. Process Optimization – Experience standardizing IT purchasing and asset management procedures at an enterprise level. Executive-Level Communication – Ability to engage with leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams with clarity and influence.

Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
  • two (2) years' of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires working technical knowledge gained through experience within a job area or system

Responsibilities

  • Directly contributes to the establishment and implementation of hardware and software acquisition, protection, maintenance and retention policies, standards and procedures aligned with IT standards and strategy
  • Investigates hardware and software products of a complex nature; evaluates and recommends products based on available metrics, intended usage and financial impact
  • Coordinates with the procurement function and project teams to select, negotiate, and track software & hardware maintenance investments
  • Gather complex data on, and provide analysis of, activities that have an impact on the value, cost and risk of technology assets
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, and that data completeness and quality issues are quickly identified and escalated to the responsible data or process owners
  • Identify and report on compliance to IT Asset Management policies, recommend and track remedial action
  • Analyzes new technology investments & advises on contract structure, content and financial modeling
