About The Position

The IT Asset Management Specialist specializes in hardware and software support and procurement for diverse enterprise-grade systems. This role involves partnering with various teams to identify and secure the necessary hardware and software support for enterprise group servers, storage area networks, operating systems, and applications. The specialist is also responsible for developing and managing budgets related to hardware and software support and acts as a liaison between Enterprise teams and hardware/software vendors and manufacturers to ensure seamless IT operations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • A total of six (6) years of experience.
  • Three years of general experience in administrative, technical, or analytical work which demonstrates the ability to perform technical and analytical work involving management information systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible specialized experience in IT procurement, contract management, or vendor support agreements.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible specialized experience in managing hardware/software maintenance renewals, licensing, and subscriptions.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible specialized experience in coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve SLA and support issues.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible specialized experience in IT asset management, inventory tracking, and lifecycle management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible specialized experience in budget planning, cost estimation, and financial coordination for IT services.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible specialized experience in preparing and processing purchase requests, requisitions, and procurement documentation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible specialized experience in utilizing IT systems, databases, or portals for reporting, analysis, and decision support.
  • This position is designated IT-2 (Non-Critical Sensitive) and requires a favorable Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required system access and DoD-related certifications (if applicable to role).

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned support agreements between NEXCOM and vendors to provide hardware and software support of systems for Enterprise group and IS.
  • Track hardware and software support purchase orders for upcoming renewals and work with stakeholders to determine support requirement changes based on current environment.
  • Liaison between NEXCOM Admins, vendors and manufactures to resolve issues related to support SLA’s, including access to software downloads and security patches, response times, call resolutions and entitlements.
  • Partner with Admins to determine current and future requirements for both hardware and software support when standard manufacturer support may be unavailable.
  • Responsible for procurement process of hardware and software for Enterprise computing systems.
  • Prepare, review and submit purchase requests and other procurement documentation in corporate accounting system to include HW/SW support/license renewals, subscriptions, training, upgrades for systems and spare parts.
  • Coordinate efforts to provide efficient reviews and approvals to ensure timely procurement times.
  • Coordinate with Budgeting department on issue resolution to resolve issues related to requisitions, payments, and modifications to purchase orders and reimbursements to other departments.
  • Prepare annual maintenance budget for assigned support renewals.
  • Work with Admins and management to determine correct support requirements, working with vendors to obtain cost estimates, calculating costs associated with store and external department reimbursements and advising management of significant upcoming support expenditures.
  • Enters and maintains hardware inventory into an auditable corporate IT asset management system; updates changes, retired assets, etc.
  • Enter and manage requests for DoD certificates for OS, system and web / application servers.
  • Serve as POC for various enterprise level Enterprise procurement and renewal agreements.
  • Utilize software portals, databases, and programs to generate reports, collect information from across the organization, conduct data analysis, consolidate responses, and propose new or modified policies.
  • Implement best practices and provide guidance based on findings from software portals and databases.
  • Distill and present relevant information to senior leaders using commonly used IT Asset Management terms and definitions.
  • Provide insights, implications, recommendations, and solutions to senior leaders.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
