Learn more at tandemdiabetes.com A DAY IN THE LIFE: The IT Applications & Business Services Intern will support technological initiatives that enable business teams to work more effectively. This role partners closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to help document processes, gather data, and support day-to-day operational needs across core business systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts at a basic level to non‑technical audiences.
  • Interest in how business applications (ERP, CRM) support real world business processes.
  • Foundational familiarity with Microsoft 365; exposure to Dynamics 365 (ERP, CRM) and/or Salesforce (SFDC) is a plus.
  • Basic analytical skills, including the ability to gather information, identify patterns, and summarize findings clearly.
  • Understanding of core IT concepts such as identity management, application access, and system dependencies.
  • Exposure to cloud concepts (Azure preferred) and interest in learning how applications are secured and managed.
  • Introductory knowledge of scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, or similar) is helpful but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured, supervised environment.
  • Customer service mindset with a willingness to learn troubleshooting and support best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow documented processes.
  • Detail oriented with a desire to learn how enterprise IT environments operate.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in documenting business and application processes, helping identify opportunities where automation or improved workflows may reduce manual effort.
  • Performs basic data gathering and analysis from systems such as ERP, CRM, and productivity platforms; summarizes findings for IT and business stakeholders.
  • Provides support for application access, roles, and group management across Microsoft 365, Azure, and business systems.
  • Assists with application and asset inventory activities, including documentation, cleanup, and coordination with infrastructure teams.
  • Collaborates with Cyber Security and IT teams on identity, access, and employee experience initiatives (e.g., OKTA-related projects).
  • Supports monitoring, reporting, and documentation related to applications and other IT environments.
  • Participates in policy awareness efforts, including data privacy, HIPAA, and general IT governance requirements.
  • Communicates clearly with both technical teams and non‑technical business users to understand issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
