About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) is seeking an Information Technology Applications Developer/Lead to lead a team that implements applications using SharePoint in support of the DHHS internet, intranet, and extranet. This IT Application Developer Lead position will, under limited supervision, function as the lead role of IT professionals responsible for providing IT technical development services for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). It is part of the Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Web Applications Team. The primary purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate the team’s work, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule in alignment with priorities. The position serves as a key liaison between the team and the Supervisor by communicating priorities, providing status updates, and offering recommendations for process improvements and effective use of available technology and standards The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services does not sponsor or transfer non-immigrant work visas. This is an in-office position located at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis, one year of which as a project coordinator, leader, or supervisor.

Nice To Haves

  • Broad exposure to the software development lifecycle with in-depth understanding and five years’ experience developing with web technologies.
  • Recent experience developing with SharePoint Server 2019, SharePoint Server Subscription Edition, or SharePoint online.
  • Experience with PowerShell.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager
  • In depth understanding of and experience with .NET and C#
  • In depth understanding of and experience with CSS 3.0.
  • In depth understanding of and experience with JavaScript, jQuery, or other JavaScript frameworks.
  • In depth understanding of and experience with HTML 5.0.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of project management tools including Workfront, Microsoft Project, or similar products.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate team project plan assignments and monitor work progress and quality.
  • Facilitate, document, and lead meeting discussions, including requirements gathering discussions.
  • Lead and work with technical and business analysts to design and implement SharePoint application solutions.
  • Maintain existing SharePoint web applications.
  • Lead and coordinate testing efforts.
  • Coordinate completion of system research and problem resolution.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership, expert guidance and mentoring to the team.
  • Provide input for performance evaluations and recommend approval of leave time usage.
  • Develop team standards.
