About The Position

The Opportunity: As the IT Application Developer– Journey within the Office of Research at WSU Pullman, you will be responsible for managing, planning, organizing, designing, developing, and maintaining web-based applications and databases associated with the Office of Research and related departments. Reporting to the Associate Director of Research Technology, you will be expected to coordinate with all levels and communicate current issues and resolutions of technical activities. Additional Information: This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime exempt. Monthly Salary: $7,010 to $9,429 | Range 05IT (A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related technology field AND three (3) years of professional experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge and experience developing with the Microsoft Integrated Development Environment (IDE). For example: ASP.NET Web Forms/MVC, C# and TypeScript.
  • Knowledge and experience administering and programming against Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Angular framework for web application development.
  • Knowledge and experience with Git source code management.
  • Understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
  • Strong understanding of best practice web security and implementation standards.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical individuals.

  • Experience in a higher education or research institutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of continuous integration and deployment solutions.
