About The Position

The Computer Field Technician is responsible for providing onsite support to Citi Trends stores as part of a scheduled rotation. As directed by management, the Computer Field Technician will work independently to support Citi Trends store computer systems, telephone systems, network, and video surveillance equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical and telecommunication background. The Computer Field Technician will play a critical role in building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management efforts within the retail organization.

Requirements

  • This position requires travel as needed
  • Must have & maintain a clean driving record
  • Must be willing to work all shifts and/or holidays on an as needed basis
  • Must possess knowledge and experience terminating communication cables (RJ-45, RJ-11, Coaxial)
  • Must possess knowledge and experience using telecommunication and electrical test tools
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office -- Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio
  • Must have the ability to read and quickly understand technical documents, reports, manuals, and general correspondence
  • Ability to lift 15-50 lbs consistently
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as general correspondence, department reports and office procedures. Ability to speak effectively with vendors and employees of the company.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • This position requires travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, installs, and performs testing activities on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication and computer network systems
  • Assembles, installs, configures and tests computer equipment on local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols
  • Completes work orders such as installing equipment, connecting and moving devices
  • Performs preventive maintenance for computer, data communication and/or peripheral equipment
  • Converse with store associates in order to determine details of equipment problems
  • Advise store associates concerning equipment operation and maintenance practices
  • Uses network and telecommunication test equipment, such as butt sets and audible tone probes, to troubleshoot cable malfunctions
  • Uses electronic test equipment, such as optical power meters and multimeters, to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Review and perform facility related repair functions such as ceiling tile and lighting repair
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned
