About The Position

Perform general and specialized maintenance trouble shooting and repair of low voltage operated irrigation systems which includes but is not limited to installation, repair, purchasing of parts and proper operation of systems and equipment. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 months experience as a custodian
• Ability to perform heavy outside duties in all types of weather.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to work as part of a district irrigation team.
• Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience/ability to include, but not limited to: Assessment and recognition of irrigation system malfunctions Identification and trouble-shooting of any recognized system malfunctions Ability to replace, rebuild and repair irrigation systems ranging from ½” to 8” to include heads, lines, valves, (both manual and electric and other system related parts, (i.e. pumps. filters, etc.)
• Ability to apply knowledge of turf needs in determining appropriate water requirements
• Knowledge of low voltage timing systems
• Knowledge of and experience with District’s irrigation systems highly desirable
