About The Position

The Investor Servicing Specialist is responsible for the daily and monthly reconciliations for all loan balance and loan fee general ledger accounts, Investor Custodian accounts, and REIT accounts.  The position performs the calculation of Investor remittances pursuant to Investor requirements and makes timely remittance of payment to avoid penalty.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Equivalent work experience
  • Prior Experience: 3+ Years in loans and / or accounting
  • Licenses or Accreditation: Any required licenses or accreditation required
  • Communication Skills – Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills along with the ability to interact with management, administrative staff and external contacts in a professional manner; Excellent phone etiquette; Writes and speaks clearly and effectively.
  • Organizational Skills – Ability to manage multiple competing demands; Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as work co-operatively within a team setting and accept direction on assignments given ; organizes tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Balance and reconcile loan general ledger accounts to the JHA system.   Accounts include principal, escrow, interest accrual, FASB, dealer draft, loans in process etc.
  • Prepare daily entries for Principal, Interest, Escrow, Suspense, etc. for the Five Star REIT.
  • Balance and reconcile the principal, interest, escrow and suspense accounts for the Five Star REIT.
  • Review and remit payoff information daily to investors.   Calculate payoff remittance and transmit funds to the investor accurately and within required timelines to avoid penalty.
  • Receive and process investor fundings and reconcile to funds received from investors.
  • Create and maintain loans on system as required during funding.   Establish investors and participants on JHA system in accordance with delivery agreements negotiated by banks.
  • Perform monthly cutoff to FHLMC and FHLB.  Calculate monthly remittance and transmit funds to the investor accurately and within required timelines to avoid penalty.
  • Reconcile investor custodian accounts for P&I and T&I monthly.
  • Remit all required reports to investors as required in accordance with service contracts with each investor or pledgor.  Maintain up to date list of loans that are able to be pledged.
  • Complete quality control audits for investors and third-party service providers.
  • Review Bank and Investor loan documentation and report exceptions of policies and procedures found to management.
  • Assist with requests for information with respect to both internal exams and audits.
  • Deliver highest level of customer service to customers, branches, and other departments.
  • Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders.   Incorporate the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.
