About The Position

Under the direction of the senior operations staff, the Investment Operations Analyst is responsible for the operational functions of an investment portfolio, including trade management, data reconciliation, cash flow processing, and portfolio monitoring. This role involves ensuring data accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and providing detailed reporting to internal stakeholders. The analyst will collaborate closely with portfolio managers, IT teams, and third-party service providers to maintain efficient workflows and communication. With a focus on accuracy, problem-solving, and process improvement, this position is essential to the smooth operation and performance of the investment portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field and one (1) year of experience preforming duties related to the investment operations, investment accounting, planning, organizing, information systems, finance, accounting, or related duties, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • As a requirement of this position, the employee will submit to the URS Investment Compliance Officer a record of trade confirmations or monthly transaction summaries, as they become available, of all security transactions (excluding mutual funds), in any account under the employee’s control and direction, or under the control and direction of the employee’s spouse.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the accurate and efficient execution of the trade lifecycle across multiple asset classes, including equities, foreign exchange (FX), and futures. Collaborates proactively with custodians, brokers, and counterparties to identify and resolve settlement discrepancies and related issues promptly, ensuring professionalism and operational excellence.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of trade data, cash balances, and portfolio holdings between internal systems and external custodians or service providers. Investigates and resolves any mismatches or discrepancies to maintain data accuracy.
  • Monitors and processes incoming and outgoing cash flows, including contributions, withdrawals, and income distributions. Maintains a detailed understanding of cash needs and ensures proper allocation of cash within the portfolio.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely input of portfolio-related data into operational systems. Conducts regular audits to verify data integrity and address any inconsistencies across reporting tools and platforms.
  • Continuously tracks and evaluates portfolio positions, exposures, and performance metrics. Identifies anomalies or unexpected performance and escalates them to operations leadership.
  • Assists with the maintenance, testing, and improvement of investment operations software.
  • Prepares detailed reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, covering portfolio performance, trade execution metrics, and operational updates. Maintains comprehensive documentation of workflows and processes for consistency and audit readiness.
  • Fosters internal collaboration and upholds professionalism within the investments team, while building and maintaining productive relationships with external service providers.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to the ethics and compliance policies.
