About The Position

Scion is paving a path in student living and we’re seeking a talented Associate to join us in executing our vision. This position is a senior role within the investments team working group who will focus on delivering financial modeling, research and presentations as well as communicating with all external constituents associated with pending transactions and portfolio management initiatives. In addition, this role will support related investment verticals that are critical to the performance and success of Scion’s operations. The Associate fosters strong cross departmental working relationships and thrives in a fast-paced, agile, corporate environment. This role demands excellent communication skills, agility, well-honed analytical and problem-solving skills and takes no half measures. For real estate finance professionals with a few years of professional experience, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team and gain invaluable transaction and investment related experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or similar STEM programs with 2-5 years of professional experience
  • Advanced financial modeling; High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills;
  • Knowledge of and experience with commercial real estate fundamentals and investment principles.
  • Travel may be required occasionally (10-15% in a year).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial models to analyze prospective origination opportunities under various investment structures.
  • Gather and evaluate economic, demographic, and macro fundamental data to aid senior management in effective business decisions.
  • Provide corporate support to Asset Management and Investment Management team members to assess monthly performance and determine key trends.
  • Conduct general portfolio management analysis and provide work product on an established, recurring frequency to internal and external stake holders.
  • Leverage presentation software, data visualization techniques and communication skills to generate external and internal reports.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party consultants, investment sales community, equity and debt partners
  • Conduct transaction due diligence by collecting, reviewing, and summarizing various property diligence reports, leases, property financial information, and other due diligence documents.
  • Establish workflow with asset management and property operations upon asset transition
  • Mentor a team of junior analysts with a focus on fostering financial modeling acumen, cross departmental working relationships, and transaction related procedures.
