The Inventory & Logistics Manager plays a key role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of materials throughout the manufacturing operation. This position leads warehousing, inventory, transportation, and material flow while developing and managing a team of logistics professionals. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys improving systems, reducing costs, and driving operational performance.

Requirements

  • Experience in plant or industrial logistics
  • Strong knowledge of inventory, supply chain, and warehouse operations
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and 3PL providers
  • Clear and professional communicator who works well across departments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations
  • Experience operating forklifts or similar industrial equipment
  • Clean driving record (past 2 years)

  • This role is based in a manufacturing facility and includes time in warehouse and plant settings. You will be on your feet at times, operating equipment, moving materials, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. The facility is not climate controlled, so heat, humidity, and noise may be present.
  • Can work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant logistics activities including warehousing, inventory movement, transportation, and receiving
  • Supervise, coach, and develop materials and logistics staff
  • Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Ensure materials and inventory are available to support the production schedule
  • Partner with Purchasing and Planning to reduce expedited freight and control costs
  • Track and manage freight spend
  • Support MRP, purchasing, and inbound materials
  • Manage receiving, storage, and internal material flow
  • Analyze logistics and inventory data to identify issues and improvement opportunities
  • Develop strategies to streamline processes, simplify packaging, and reduce costs
  • Work with inventory control systems
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers as needed
