About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining accurate inventory levels to support efficient operations. This role ensures that all inventory transactions are properly recorded, discrepancies are investigated and resolved, and inventory processes follow company standards. The coordinator works closely with warehouse, procurement, production, and accounting teams to support smooth supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory control within a food manufacturing or processing environment. This position typically works traditional hours, but occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required to successfully meet customers’ needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., SQF, GMP).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Forklift driving certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems (SAP) and Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to speak and communicate in English

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels in the inventory management system.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts; investigate and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory movement, storage, and replenishment activities.
  • Ensure proper labeling, rotation, and handling of materials.
  • Compile and analyze inventory data to identify variances, trends, and potential issues.
  • Prepare inventory reports for management, including stock levels, usage trends, and adjustments.
  • Support month-end and year-end inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Recommend improvements to inventory control procedures and workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and auditing requirements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory control best practices.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Work with warehouse and SIOP teams to maintain efficient storage and material flow.
  • Communicate inventory issues or shortages to relevant departments promptly.
  • Serve as backup Material Handler and Shipping Clerk.
