About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing our inventory processes, ensuring that our machinery and related parts are adequately stocked to meet the demands of our production and customer needs. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, as you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and implementing efficient inventory control measures. Your expertise will be invaluable in identifying discrepancies and working collaboratively with various departments to resolve them. You will also provide vital support in the purchasing process by forecasting inventory needs based on production usage. In addition, the Electro-Mechanical Inventory Specialist will be responsible for conducting regular audits and implementing best practices to improve inventory turnover and reduce waste. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper documentation of all stock movements. Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations by conducting regular stock counts. Organize the storage of inventory items to maximize space and efficiency. Collaborate with the production management and Engineering in assuring appropriate inventory min/max levels Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts and work with relevant departments to rectify issues promptly. Implement inventory control best practices to optimize stock turnover and minimize waste. Assist in the development and maintenance of inventory management systems and procedures. Prepare regular reports on inventory status and potential issues for management review. Work with shipping and receiving on correct reception andsending of inbound and out bound parts Collaborate with Electromechanical maintenance, engineering and production teams to align purchasing with operational needs Allocation and staging of scheduled machinery projects to designated production areas Assist in the preparation of inventory reports for management review. Order status of inbound parts Obtain competitive cost quotation of stock items from OEM and third-party vendors Evaluate supplier performance and maintain positive vendor relationships. Work with accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies and/or receipt status Work with purchasing answering purchase requisition questions Work with receiving to confirm contents of purchase orders

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an inventory specialist or in a similar role within the production industry.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Ability to lift 40+lbs
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and/or Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to minimize errors.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends in inventory levels and usage.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with internal departments and vendors
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with different departments.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage inventory efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma; or 2 or more years in production inventory management
