A Team Lead is responsible for overseeing teams of employees and motivate them to complete their job duties effectively. Their duties include training new employees and providing team members with daily objectives, developing and implementing reward systems to motivate employee productivity and communicating with upper management to determine the best methods for meeting organization goals. The position will assist to ensure the accuracy of warehouse and plant inventory balances. This position is responsible for helping cycle count coordinators to maintain the cycle count program and process, root cause analysis, accuracy reporting, and corrective actions. The successful implementation and maintenance of these processes should yield increased inventory accuracy, reduced component shortages, reduced cost of indirect labor for material handling and improved productivity of the manufacturing operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/General Education Degree (GED)
  • 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of experience in Inventory Management or Cycle Counting
  • 2+ years of experience with ERP systems, QAD/Oracle preferred
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to follow through on commitments and details.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to perform varied and complex tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree
  • Good technical problem solving/analytical skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Hands-on, shop floor experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
  • PIV equipment experience

Responsibilities

  • Use empowerment, trust and other strategies as appropriate to develop and motivate team members
  • Lead team members in the area using SQDIP and driving adherence to standard work
  • Maintain production records using written records, computers, barcode scanning equipment or other technologies
  • Monitor and expedite flow of information through the work cells and use problem solving techniques to resolve recurring issues with safety, inventory accuracy, scheduling productivity and quality
  • Provide the team with a vision of the project objectives by leading daily start up meetings
  • Train employees in equipment operation, department processes, quality and safety standards using Training Within Industry methods (TWI-JI)
  • Assist in planning work area assignments
  • Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance
  • Keep the supervisor informed of task accomplishment, issues and status, escalate when necessary
  • Serve as a central point to communicate and resolve issues with other teams
  • Provide guidance to the team based on management direction
  • Bridge the between shift gap for customer pick up, point of contact for security etc.
  • All other assignments assigned by leadership
  • Performs and oversees cycle counts to ensure physical inventory matches documented records.
  • Maintains high levels of inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Conduct inventory reviews and assessments using designated software.
  • Assists in managing warehouse inventory for smooth and efficient operations.
  • Organizes products according to established procedures.
  • Locates misplaced goods.
  • Reports on inconsistencies or damaged goods.
  • Open and repackage shipments.
  • Measures and weighs products (may involve using scales and measuring tools).
