About The Position

Longhorn Energy & Transportation is in search of a meticulous Operations, Inventory & Asset Administrator responsible for overseeing purchasing, receiving, inventory management, asset tracking, vendor coordination, and operational organization across shop and yard locations. This administrative position entails regular presence in the shop and yard to conduct physical counts, verify equipment, and assist in organizing storage areas to ensure that parts and equipment are easily locatable, trackable, and accessible.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory control, or operations support
  • Comfortable working in shop and yard environments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Order parts, supplies, and consumables for both shop and field operations
  • Receive, verify, and document incoming shipments
  • Collaborate directly with vendors to guarantee optimal service, availability, and pricing
  • Address vendor-related issues such as shortages, delays, or discrepancies
  • Assess vendor performance and pricing
  • Aid in the identification and onboarding of new vendors
  • Maintain comprehensive vendor records and pricing agreements
  • Keep precise inventory records for parts, tools, and equipment
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts in the shop and yard
  • Monitor company-owned equipment and asset locations
  • Establish and uphold asset tracking systems
  • Prevent loss, damage, or misaccounted company property
  • Arrange shop, yard, and storage areas for efficient access
  • Ensure that parts and equipment are appropriately labeled and stored
  • Enhance layout and accessibility in collaboration with operations staff
  • Monitor inventory usage and equipment movement
  • Supervise purchasing activities and inventory-related expenditures
  • Support management with budgeting and cost control
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings related to vendors and purchasing.
