About The Position

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) Interventional Spine Physiatrist. This role is based at the UNC Hospitals Spine and Imaging Center. The primary responsibility is to provide care for patients suffering from back and neck pain, musculoskeletal problems, and acute/chronic spine disorders. The physiatrist must be capable of delivering comprehensive clinical care management and be proficient in fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided procedures, including epidural, facet, and sacroiliac joint injections. The position involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary spine care team and other departments, focusing on non-operative treatments such as physical and occupational therapy. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in educational, research, and administrative activities aligned with their academic appointment and area of expertise. The role includes some on-call responsibilities and participation in quality improvement projects. A strong interest in academic medicine is essential to contribute to the advancement of research, education, and clinical activities.

Requirements

  • BC/BE Interventional Spine Physiatrist
  • Trained in fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided procedures, including epidural, facet, and sacroiliac joint injections
  • Strong interest in academic medicine to advance research, education, and clinical activities

Responsibilities
