Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine , Cardiology , and Interventional Cardiology
- Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Virginia (or eligibility)
- Valid DEA controlled substance registration
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Collaborative approach with other physicians and care teams
- Commitment to evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care
Responsibilities
- Perform minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions, including:
- Cardiac catheterization
- Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) such as angioplasty and stent placement
- Peripheral vascular interventions
- Management of acute coronary syndromes
- Interpret diagnostic tests including:
- Stress testing
- SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging
- Echocardiography
- Holter monitoring
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage complex cardiac cases
- Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations
- Participate in call coverage and follow-up care
- Educate patients on risk factors , treatment options , and preventive strategies
