Requirements

Associates Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in a related field is required.
Training in medical terminology preferred.
Interpersonal skills appropriate for handling sensitive patient and/or employee issues.
Fluency in English and American Sign Language.
One (1) year related experience required.
Certificate of completion of a Medical Interpreter Training.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired .

Nice To Haves

Training in medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

Position reports to the Manager, Interpreter Services or designee.
Provide coverage on-site/on-call for Interpreter Services as requested.
Provide accurate consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation from spoken English to American Sign Language and vice versa.
Develop a rhythm of interpretation to enhance the flow of communication between parties.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of encounters.
